I finished my curtain yesterday afternoon. I even installed it myself!
Do you see the extra little holes near the hardware? There are lots more of those, thankfully well hidden. My relationship with power tools is a tumultuous one.
This is what the window looks like now.
There is a dip in the middle of the rod that will be fixed when Daryl puts the last piece of hardware up. I'm still recovering from yesterday's struggle.
Laura is on the couch today because she is sick. She was up in the night with a 103 fever, but was quite angry when I kept her home from school today.
So I think I like it. Daryl definitely does, which is a relief. He was excited, and proud of me. The total cost of the project was around $15.00. The hardware was between $8-9, and the fabric was $5.77/yard.
When I first put the curtain up I was worried that the room was too boring and bland. So I pulled out some brighter decorations for my little shelf to bring a little color into the room.
The weaving was done by my grandmother.
A little note about the window~ When the house was built there was no window on that wall. We found this window at a builders outlet store for around $60.00. Daryl and my brother in law installed it. That was probably the best $60.00 ever spent on this house. The room is so much brighter and airier. We will be in big trouble if it ever gets broken though, I doubt a replacement would be easy to find.
Next on my list is pulling the rest of the room together. I would love to do something with the chair to the left of the window. It's pretty ugly. I bought fabric to recover it, but unfortunately realized that reupholstering furniture is out of my league. Maybe a nice throw pillow would be enough for now...
I'm off to the couch to color with Laura. I hope she is feeling better soon.

Nicely done!

Those curtains are beautiful!!! I wonder if Walmart still has that material? I love the look of the living room too!

Do you know that it's the best time to get the loans, which can make your dreams come true.
