Today is the first day of our school year. Daryl is back at work, Laura is starting Kindergarten, and Gavin is beginning fourth grade.
I wasn't sure how it would go, but there were no tears. (I shed my tears in the dark of the night, but am doing okay today.) I'm going to miss Laura's company though...
Gavin was ready to go, up at 6 am, quite excited about the day.
This little guy doesn't seem too upset about being home alone. He had a fabulous morning, and has yet to ask where anyone is.
It is nice having time to spend with Braeden uninterrupted. And what is even nicer is he still takes a nap. A long nap. So it appears that I am going to have every afternoon to myself. I still haven't wrapped my mind around that idea. I can do whatever I want, and noone will bother me. After spending a few months of having the entire family together 24/7, this quiet time is quite welcome, but maybe a bit overwhelming. In a good way.
I'm looking forward to a relaxing, productive fall, and reconnecting with all of you. Hope your summer was wonderful!

I love the last shot. So funny! I am so glad your transition back to school and home from your great trip went well!
